Our Story

A more humane way to live with a dog.

Ask any Seattle vet about yard parasites and you'll get a version of the same conversation. Roundworm and Giardia eggs persist in soil for months. Reinfection cycles run quietly through nearly every dog-owning yard in the country. The science isn't new and it isn't controversial. It's just rarely the part of pet ownership anyone tells you about until you happen to ask.

The pet-waste-removal industry, meanwhile, is almost entirely built around the cheapest possible weekly pickup — bagging the visible problem and leaving everything beneath the grass exactly where it was.

Humane Paws exists to be the part of yard care that takes the science seriously. A premium service, run with the standards of pest control or lawn care, designed around what's actually in the soil — not just what's on top of it. Every product on our trucks is reviewed against three criteria — safe for the dog, safe for children, safe for the watershed. Our disposal protocol is built specifically around the responsibilities of operating in the Puget Sound watershed.

We're trying to change how Seattle cares for its dogs and the watershed they share. One yard at a time.

Our Mission

To change how Seattle thinks about dog ownership — one yard at a time.

Mowing your lawn, treating it for pests, fertilizing it — these are basic, professional services every responsible homeowner uses. Sanitizing the ground your dog and your children use every day should be the same. Our mission is to make that the new normal in Seattle, and to do it with a level of care, science, and respect for the environment that the industry has historically lacked.

What We Stand For

Three principles that shape everything we do.

01

Health first.

We named the company Humane Paws because the work is, first, an act of caring for the animal. Healthy yard, healthy dog, healthy household — in that order.

02

Personal service.

Every technician knows your gate, your dog, and your preferences. Routes are organized so service stays consistent and personal — no anonymous crews, no rotating contractors.

03

The watershed matters.

Seattle's stormwater empties into Puget Sound, and pet waste is a measurable contributor. Every disposal protocol on our trucks is designed around protecting the Sound — because the families and salmon downstream of every yard are the same ones our service exists for.
